Instrumentation: Glockenspiel (Low F)

Program Notes:

Five Miniatures was written as an exercise to explore some of the colors of the glockenspiel in a solo setting (a setting this instrument is rarely used in). Utilizing different types of implements as well as toying with the sustain of the instrument in various ways, I tried to create a collection of short movements that work as a cohesive set all based off themes presented in the first movement.

Five Miniatures was premiered by Katie Franzen on her junior performance recital at the University of Iowa.
