Program Notes:

Saturday at the Buckley’s is a 16-bar blues originally scored for jazz combo. The piece is written in a “New Orleans Second-Line” style, which blends the swinging 8th note feel of jazz with the backbeat of funk. This arrangement was written for the University of Massachusetts MASS Marimba Band, who premiered it in the spring of 2008.
